PHP email question in Cpanel

Good morning everyone. I have a general question. The default PHP mail function will send emails directly from web-sever. Do these emails encrypted with SSL if the web-server has enabled the SSL? Sorry I couldn't manage to find any info info from Google search. Thanks,
