No suitable key exchange
Hi,
I've been using Aptana Studio 3 with a remote SFTP connection to cPanel hosting quite happily for a number of years. I know it's an old IDE, but I cannot find another opensource IDE at present which provides the same level of auto completion and syntax checking for php (never mind the simplicity of set up). Last weekend the remote connections failed with "Establishing SFTP connection failed: No suitable key exchange algorithm could be found". Filezilla continues to work on the same connection setup and I have tried remote connection via Notepadd++ and Komodo without any problems. The same cpanel key has been used on all setups. I have asked my hosting provider if anything has changed and they suggest that something might have changed in cPanel. For key exchange methods, I have available D-H group-exchange-sha256 and sha1 and group 14 and 1 sha1.
cPanel 84 (build 21)
Any insights would be welcome.
Many thanks.
Alex.

Aptana only carries support for 1 (?) cipher, the diffie-hellman one. Most SSH servers don't support this cipher anymore. work around Aptana Studio 3 SFTP Key Exchange usure if it will work in your case if you do not have root access you will not be able to implement this 0 -
Thanks for the suggestion. On a shared server, so no access. I have got a workaround - couldn't get Swish to work (also not being maintained), which would have enabled me to use a local directory in Aptana, so using the custom file association in Filezilla to launch the edit into Aptana, Not as slick as opening directly from Aptana, but only one extra step on saving and not a serious inconvenience working with 2 apps with 2 screens. 0 -
I'm glad you were able to get a workaround that suited your needs @Alex Cranswick and thanks for sharing what worked for you. 0
