differences between alt-php and ea-php
May you please help me understand what the differences between

I think this is confusing. Is this possible to customize and remove some options? It would be great a cPanel user just had like 4 or 5 options. Perhaps these options are dependent upon PHP-FPM being enabled / compiled in EasyApache 4? I always thought PHP-FPM was the bomb... it makes everything so much faster and is just magic. o_O

Yea but why are these binaries even there? Is it because CloudLinux is installed? Or does it have something to do with PHP FPM? Thanks for helpful link!
Yes, as they say here: It is not possible to remove PHP Selector from the system completely as it is an essential part of LVE Manager and CageFS packages. However, you can make PHP Selector unavailable for cPanel and Plesk users " It has nothing to do with PHP-FPM.0 -

Hello, This information may be useful FAQ on PHP Selector integration with cPanel"s MultiPHP Manager Thanks.0 -
cPanel's PHP binaries are prefixed ea-php where Cloudlinux's for their PHP selector are alt-php and are present because you're using the PHP selector. You'll find that alt-php versions offer more PHP versions than cPanel's ea-php does, in the event that you need older versions or php 7.4 (which isn't available on cPanel just yet but will be soon) - let us know if you have any questions after reading through the documentation provided above. 0
