Editing Vhosts

Hello, i am quite new to the cpanel and EasyApache tool. I am trying to edit the root directory (when the user types XXX.com what the document root should be?). I created a new folder called userdata in the path "/etc/apache2/conf.d" and created a file called vhosts.conf i put my vhost in it . what else should i do?

  in the main file they said that i could edit in files such "post_virtualhost_global.conf" and "pre_virtualhost_global.conf" ok i put this rule in both of them and restarted the server but nothing changed. could u help me with this?

  Did you rebuild apache and restart it according to the directions at the bottom?
