wildcard domain email block not working (WHM)

Hello. If I go to the exim configuration manager / Basic Editor / Access Lists / Blocked Domains and enter a wildcard domain (for example *.domain.com) it does not filter that domain at all. Only when I enter "domain.com" it works but then if the email has subdomains it doesn't work either. I have version 86.0.16 Any clue?
