Upgrading CentOS from 6.1 to 7

Has anyone, or is it possible, to ugprade CentOS from version 6.1 to 6.5, then upgraded CentOS 6.5 to CentOS 7.5 in place without doing a full system reinstall? edit Apparently I was wrong. Seems I have version 6.10. I assumed 6.10 was 6.1, but it's not? So, can 6.10 be upgraded in place to the latest 7.x final release?

  Sorry, but you can't upgrade from 6.x to 7.x. You need to either reinstall or migrate to a new server.

  I didn't think you could either, but I was reading an article that said it's a new feature. Something that wasn't able to be done in previous versions can now be done.

  Thanks for the insight. Guess I'll have to go another route to upgrade to CentOs 7.x.
