install backup on another folder

I want to know if I can restore a backup to another folder in public html. I have back up my home directory and now there is problem with my site. I want to know if I can restore the backed up file on another folder in the same public html. Please help, I am new to cpanel. I anxiously await your reply. Thank you, Sajerestan
