No they won't be removed at this time but there will not be any more updates for them and you wouldn't be able to install them on new servers.

Thank you for your answer. This information, if correct, should be added to the documentation / changelog, because the availabile information in the cPanel documentation is contradictory and is determining some fellow admins to switch to manual updates.

Can you specify? I'm unable to identify where in our documentation it indicates the PHP versions will be removed? We won't update and you won't be able to add them later but we will not remove them at this time.

Some examples where I found contradictory information:

Hi Megabytu, Why is Cloudlinux not an option for you?

Because the application provider does not support it and it is extremely expensive for us to migrate to CloudLinux. PHP 5.5 / 5.6 should remain on cPanel servers and in the repos. It should be the server's administrators decision and risk to install or to uninstall PHP 5.5 / 5.6 from the server. There are still a lot of custom applications that are NOT compatible with PHP 7 or cannot be fully tested in a PHP 7 environment without the risk of impactin functionality and customers.

Hello, I see, allow me to clarify - so removed from the repo and removed from the default profile are NOT equal to removed from your server. In the event that you've already got the PHP version installed on a custom easyapache profile while the versions of PHP will not be updated they will not be removed. They will not be a part of the default profile any longer, they will not be available for download in our repositories any longer, we will not provide updates for them and new servers will not get them. But none of this says we will remove the versions from your server. As for CloudLinux I think there is some confusion - switching to CloudLinux does not require a migration - it's a kernel change.
