Invalid login
Hi
I accidentally installed wp on the root eg http://www.com/sapp-wp-signon.php?pass=aloadofrandomlettersandnumbers
and I get a server not found message
! have now tried to reinstall several times all with the same results
I contacted softaculious and gave them the cpanel details for the specific domain (all my other websites are working) and they cannot access the cpanel.
I can access the cpanel through whm, but when I try at cpanel.myotherdomain.net it is saying login invalid.
I tried changing the password, it didnt help.
Why can I login though whm, but not externally?
Is this the cause of why I cant install wordpress with softaculious?

I suspect you are either a reseller or root on the server. WHM is the administrator interface while cPanel is the user interface hence you are not able to login directly. Give Softacolous support the login details of the cPanel account and they should be able to investigate this further. 0 -
Hi, I am a reseller and this is a customer website. I always give my customers their individual cpanel login from the user interface. I have given softaculious the user details and they have said that becuase they cant access it either, they cant help. Some kind soul in the wordpress forum took a look and said that a Cname record was missing. I hadnt touched the DNS so that didnt even occur. All sorted in terms of the website, but still not the login. Yes I have reset the password both in the clients cpanel and in WHM. Both times, when I trying to then log into the cpanel externally though the client login, it still says its invalid. do you mean my hosting provider? This is a cpanel problem I dont seem to have a support ID in whm, so cant contact cpanel directly, The only help I can get is here on the forum and my replies just keep saying awaiting moderator approval 0 -
Can you try to reset the cPanel password? If it doesn't work either I suggest you to reach out to your provider who should be able to assist you getting this resolved. 0 -

It sounds like a frustrating problem. Are the name servers / A record of the domain pointing to yours and are you able to access cPanel using eg theserverhostname.com:20830 -

All the nameservers and A records are correct. The login page at :2083 is the sane as cpanel.theserverhostname, com It really makes no difference, it still says the login is invalid. Its now fixed. I dont know how and I dont know what the problem was. I asked my hosting to look at it, They said they logged in fine and then I could straight after.0 -

If the issue was just that you wanted to go to www.domain.tld instead of domain.tld you would just need to ensure the CNAME for www.domain.tld was present. It sounds a lot like this wasn't present.I can access the cpanel through whm, but when I try at cpanel.myotherdomain.net it is saying login invalid. I tried changing the password, it didnt help.
This combined with the fact that you were able to login this way later lends to a potential temporary firewall block0 -

Glad to hear the issue is resolved. Thanks for the update.0
