UNABLE TO UPDATE vCPANEL VERSION FROM v86.0.18 to v88.0.12 ON GUI

Hello cPanel team and all, I'm system admin from VietNam and using cPanel as root user. I manage over +30 customer hostings, my version cPanel is v86.0.18. I wanna update the version cPanel from v86.0.18 to v88.0.12 but I can't. The update is disable on GUI and there is no option to choose in WHM >> Server Configuration >> Update Preferences as below pictures My server configuration: OS: Cloudlinux 7.7 16vCPU - 8GB Ram 500GB HDD Please help to fix this, thanks team.

    Do you have root access via SSH? Are you able to run the following command? /scripts/upcp --force

    Yes, here it is. CPANEL=release RPMUP=never SARULESUP=never STAGING_DIR=/usr/local/cpanel UPDATES=never

    Just restart cPanel to be sure and then run the upcp update, that should so it.

    Hi all, I just edit the file /etc/cpupdate.conf. And I can run /scripts/upcp --force.     Clamav is your problem. You need to remove which you installed manually and then upcp will run smoothly.

    Hello all, The clamav was installed automatically while I was installing cPanel. How can I removed it ( "yum remove clamav" or remove on GUI cPanel). And then, when I'm done update the cPanel, so how can reinstall the clamav ?

    Depending on what you want to do you need to remove one version of ClamAV. The version of cPanel ClamAV does not match the secondary version you have installed.

    Hello Lauren, So How can I remove the secondary clamav, only 1 command "#yum remove clamav" ???

    You can uninstall ClamAV from WHM under plugins and then run the rpm command to see what versions were left then running "yum remove version" should fix it like: yum remove clamav-server-0.101.4-3.el7.x86_64 Once all is removed, installed ClamAV from WHM again and then run the cPanel update.

    Well really if you want to remove the 3rd party installation you'd want to remove ALL the packages associated with it not just the server package so the command would need to include all of these packages: : clamav-update-0.101.4-3.el7.x86_64 clamav-scanner-0.101.4-3.el7.noarch clamav-lib-0.101.4-3.el7.x86_64 clamav-filesystem-0.101.4-3.el7.noarch clamav-scanner-systemd-0.101.4-3.el7.noarch clamav-server-systemd-0.101.4-3.el7.noarch clamav-data-0.101.4-3.el7.noarch clamav-devel-0.101.4-3.el7.x86_64 clamav-server-0.101.4-3.el7.x86_64 clamav-0.101.4-3.el7.x86_64
