How to point a subdomain to another server

Hello, I own a VPS server and for one of accounts i need to update a subdomain ip to point to another external server. (ps: now this subdomain already point to another external ip) I updated A record for this subdomain at zone file of the parent domain but it does not propagate also after 24 hours. The parent domain is registered on a registrar and dhe zone file is not providered by the registrar. I tried to delete and add again this A record from whm-edit dns zone but there is no change. Is there anyone who can help me with the solution of this problem ? Thank you in advance Silvi

  The only way to do this is to create an A record for the subdomain where DNS is hosted for the parent domain. This is typically where the Nameservers are pointed.

  Hi Silvi, Are your cPanel server/environment also hosting DNS zones? Or are they hosted at 3rdparty? If at 3rd party you cannot neccessarily update DNS records from within cPanel/WHM but would have to do that at the DNS hosting service. PS: If you are manually editing zone files remember to also increment the serial number ;)
