Manage email can't change user passwords
I've been setting up an entire set of email accounts in bluehost/cpanel. In the process, I need to change or update user email passwords. While it appears that everything works fine, the passwords aren't changing. I see that there's more than one way to get at the user accounts and wonder if there's a preferred way so that passwords CAN be changed?

Can you explain to me how you're changing passwords and testing whether or not they're changing? There isn't a preferred method of doing this. 0 -
I"ve done it a couple of ways after logging into my.bluehost.com/hosting/app#/ - Products / email & office / Manage
- I select an account and click on Manage " next to the last column on the right
- Under Security / New Password, I enter a password.
- Near the bottom I click on Update Email Settings
- A popup appears on the upper right of the Window that effectively says "all OK"
- I open webmail, log in and get "The login is invalid".
- Products / email & office / Advanced
- Preferences / User Manager " gets to a cpanel page
- On one Account, I click on Change Password
- Under Security Information I enter the Password TWICE in Password and Password (Again).
- Click on Save at the bottom
- I open webmail, log in and get "The login is invalid".

Hello, I agree with you that this is indeed a concerning issue. Because you don't have root access to the server (at least I assume you don't because your profile lists you as Website Owner) have you brought this up to your hosting provider? It seems like there may be mailbox corruption or an issue with caches but you wouldn't be able to diagnose either of these issues without root access. 0 -
Thank you! I've still not gotten to the bottom of this but, for now, I believe I should run a few more experiments to see if I can't narrow things down. There may not *be* a problem as this was happening during email migration. 0 -

Well, during migration there are a few propagation related issues you would want to be concerned about, i.e., you're changing the password on the new server but still cached in your browser to webmail on the old one. Do let us know if you continue to have these issues post-migration though.0
