I believe the version of LiteSpeed offered inside cPanel is based on the specifications of your server.

As far as I know, the Unlimited pack they sell is with 2 workers - so that would be identical to the monthly price at litespeedtech.com, but of course now I cannot find the details :) Else you may want to mail cs@cpanel.net for any pricing questions ;)

And you really (really) don't want to match your LSWS license to the number of CPU's. As an example (to keep it simple) if you have a 4 CPU/core box, you prob. want a 2 CPU LSWS license. That lets LSWS use (at most) 2 CPU's using 2 CPU's for PHP/MySQL etc. You need to 'logically' leave some CPU available for MySQL/PHP etc.

We offer two separate Litespeed Licenses: The 8GB Litespeed license
    • RAM Limit: 8GB
    • Worker Processes: 1
    • Cache: LSCache Standard
    • Unlimited Domains
The 8GB license can run on a dedicated server, so long as it has no more than 8GB of memory The Dedicated Litespeed License:
    • RAM Limit: Unlimited
    • Worker Processes: 3
    • Cache: LSCache Standard
    • Domains: Unlimited
This is a 3-worker license which is cheaper at $46.00 than the 2-worker license offered by LiteSpeed The Dedicated LiteSpeed license is recommended for dedicated servers with up to 16 cores

3-worker makes it worth it. Because 1 worker looks less. You said its good for servers with up to 16 cores. How about servers with higher cores? What are the options out there?

These are the licenses we offer. LiteSpeed has their own offering which, if you have more than 16 cores would be more suitable, here: Choosing A License - LiteSpeed Technologies
