[cPhulkd] Internal Failure
Hi all,
I am seeing lots of spam mail originating from many of the email account of a cpanel domain.
I have changed the cpanel login but spam is not stopping.
The server load is also very high.
In the maillog i can see the log being flooded with messages as below:
cpanel-00 dovecot: auth: Error: policy(email1@domain.com,'some_ip_address'): Policy server HTTP error: Absolute request timeout expired (Request queued 3.000 secs ago, 1 send attempts in 0.184 secs, 0.184 in other ioloops)

I have restarted cphulk as below but no outcome.
/usr/local/cpanel/logs/cphulkd_errors.log has below lines.
info [cPhulkd] Internal Failure (state:authed login_service:dovecot): Cpanel::Exception::Timeout/(XID tj6a65) Timeout while reading HTTP connection
at /usr/local/cpanel/Cpanel/Hulkd/Processor.pm line 128, line 16.

...
Timed out (2 seconds) while reading from socket.
Timed out (2 seconds) while reading from socket.
Timed out (2 seconds) while reading from socket.
Don't quiet know what to do next.
please help.

How much spam email are we talking about here? When you've restarted cPHulk are you also restarting dovecot? 0 -

Hi lauren, Dont know exact count but the cpanel queue was always > 100 when i checked. Suspended that account. It instantly fixed the issue and server load came back to normal. Turns out that cpanel account had a same password for all its email account and there was more than 200 mail accounts. Made them change all their passwords.0
