Account Mail Protocols
In my old mail server I used to be able to delegate which protocol an email account can use (POP3, IMAP) is there a way to limit this using cpanel?

While that is an extremely old post, it does still hold true. I am curious what is the use case for this? Why would you want to limit a user to either POP3 or IMAP? 0 -
@cPanelLauren - Basically some of our existing clients use IMAP, whilst others are using POP3 this is purely done because of space so their emails don't grow too much to hog the system. @ZenHostingTravis - I am quite familiar with the aforementioned threads, and this still holds - but on the same thread @Kent Brockman mentions a workaround using "special package". Is this possible? 0 -
But these are services that are global not per user, so disabling IMAP or POP per user would really not be a thing. The only way I could imagine anything like this being done is with Host Access control but even then you'd run into some issues, namely that Host Access control determines access based off IP address. This means that you'd have to know every user's IP address and none of the users would be able to have a dynamic IP address (dynamic IP's change periodically and this is what most ISP's configure for their users). Information on Host Access control can be found here if you want to read more about it: Host Access Control | cPanel & WHM Documentation 0
