API TOKENS appeared in WHM on all cpanel servers
Hi
I was looking into setting up an API token
So - in the WHM - I went to
Home "
Development "
Manage API Tokens
and I noticed that an API token
named transfer-1583781773
was set up on
Mar 9, 2020 12:22:53 PM
This seemed weird so I checked all of my other servers and they also have a similar token with a similar name from approximately the same date.
Did a cpanel update create these tokens?
or
did they possibly create themselves when I transferred accounts from one server to another?
This doesn't seem right since on one of the servers I have never transferred any accounts to or from that server.
The tokens have all priviledges for everything enabled.
The tokens never expire.
The servers are not all at the same data centers.
All servers on
CENTOS 7.8
v86.0.25
Do I need these tokens for any normal activities in cpanel or whm / SSH / backup/ transfer accounts?
or can I SAFELY revoke the priviledges and/or delete the tokens?

Did you perform a transfer in march? (using the transfer tool)? 0 -
Yes on some of the servers - but I am pretty sure that on one of the servers I have never transferred any accounts to or from that server. (I could be mistaken) I do backup the servers to each other using the whm backup additional destinations Let's assume that I did use the transfer tool on all servers. Is it OK for me to delete these tokens? Do I need these tokens for any normal activities in cpanel or whm / SSH / backup/ transfer accounts? or can I SAFELY revoke the priviledges and/or delete the tokens? Will the servers recreate these tokens if I use the transfer tool or backups again? 0 -
Just tested transfer tool using ssh keys instead of passwords and the server generated new API tokens OK to close this ticket 0 -
