    You should be good then. CloudFlare protected only supports HTTP/HTTPS traffic so everything else won't work like FTP through a protected domain name but given your current situation this should be ok.

    Thank you! Sorry for asking stupid questions, but to clarify: What you're saying is that I can safely change all records to "Proxied", even the "mail" record?

    Yes though I would leave mail dns only.

    Thank you both of you. Highly appreciated! After having tested it myself I can now confirm that it is possible to set all Cloudflare DNS A records related to cPanel (expect the "mail" subdomain) to "Proxied" with no issues. At least in my case.
