live transfer with remote DNS
If I use remote DNS, with the live transfer tool work for transferring a website to a new server?
Both servers use remote DNS, so they both have control over the DNS and so does the remote dns servers technically. When I remove the old account after the transfer but leave the DNS will it be o.k.? It kind of sounds like it does not make new dns records on the server it is moved to.
Only use the Live transfer feature if the source server controls the authoritative name servers for the domain. If the source server does not control the authoritative nameservers for the domain and you use this feature, DNS will not resolve. This will cause your sites to experience downtime.

If the domains DNS is managed by the remote server, i.e., the nameservers are pointed to the remote DNS server this means that your server is NOT authoritative for the domain and this will cause your domains to fail due to the fact that the domain's DNS records need to be changed remotely. 0 -
