cpanel just hangs for couple of seconds

Hi I running whm on ec2 instance (centos 7) and sometimes the website (script) as well as the cpanel (account-login) all hang-up for couple of seconds (5 to 10 seconds). I checked the cpu usage but I am not hitting the 100% CPU limit, I checked the load-average and I am still below 1.00 any ideas on what to check next? what type of logs to monitor? How can I tell if it is ec2 related, what kind of tests should I run? at the moment i can't think of any. Thx.

  There are so many variables that could come into play here. You may want to look at /var/log/messages
  and /usr/local/cpanel/logs/error_log
  first to determine what is happening
