Uploading a new website

hi, very new to web development, first time uploading a website but struggling to do so Heres what I have done I have developed a website on sublime I created a go daddy account and purchased a domain name and hosting plan I went to my domain name on godaddy and clicked on file manager I uploaded my zip with all of my files in it including index.html, extracted all in public_html folder with nothing but cgi-bin When I search the website url I still get the godaddy default page.
