Hello, To install php-memcached, the extension requires that you have the libmemcached and libmemcached-devel packages installed. To do so, perform this command: yum install libmemcached libmemcached-devel
You should be able to install the package afterwards. As for the version mismatch; It would appear that the version for memcache is being pulled in the interface instead. What version of PHP are you doing this for? We can use that to replicate the error, as well as see if it occurs on other versions.

Hello, We are glad to hear that the installation worked for you. Did you still find that the memcached package was listed under the wrong version in the WHM interface while doing so? We attempted to reproduce the problem on testing environments but we have not gotten very far with successfully replicating. Any information that you may have for us to move forward would be greatly appreciated!

Hello, We attempted to test this, and we found that memcached will only copy memcache's verison if the memcache package is installed first. I filed an internal case with our developers such that we could have that looked into. This is the case ID: CPANEL-34948. The case will appear on our change logs at Change Logs | cPanel & WHM Documentation if and when changes are made. We appreciate that you brought this to our attention.
