Nameserver Sync
Hi all
I've setup the nameservers with those blogs:
How to Set up a DNS Cluster With cPanel " Part 2/2 (webhostinghero.org)
i just used an API Token and not Remote Key.
My currently issue is, i don't know, if i should enable back sync from the nameserve to prod.
from my understanding i have to implement also an API from the prod server and not quiet sure, in what mode i should us.
So that everything works well.
And for the future, when i want to add another nameserver, i just can sync them right?
Also when i have to resive a vm (shutdown, startup in azure) i won't face any issues, since i would at start have 2 nameservers.
And the last question: How is the best practise for backups from NS?
Kind regards

Hey hey! I would not recommend having the nameservers sync back to the web servers. In the long-term, that will just cause you to end up with DNS zones on every cPanel server, even where they aren't being managed, and that will lead to confusion. If you want to add another nameserver you'll just add it like you did the others. There's no limit to how many you can add. I wouldn't worry about backing up nameserver data. As long as you are performing backups on the webserver you'll be able to restore the DNS zones there, which will then sync to the nameserver machines. 0 -
so should i leave this error? or in which mode should the nameserver talk? 0 -
On the webserver, they should be set to synchronize. You will want the reverse trust setup in order for things to work well. If that isn't working well, can you put in a ticket so we can check that out? 0 -
Hi cPrex I made a Ticket: #94059865 0 -
It looks like our team was able to help with that cluster setup, but let me know if you need anything else! 0 -
yeah everything fine :) awesome support as always. Backups would be always taken by JetBackup? 0 -
if you have the software installed and configured, JetBackup is a great tool as well :D 0
