Email forwarding with Sendgrid
Hello,
We have a cPanel server on Google Cloud Platform and host several domains and route the email service to Sendgrid since Google doesn't allow outgoing port 25 connection from the Compute Engine service. Among that domains, there are several forwarding email to another email address which hosted elsewhere. Take a look for example admin@mydomain.org.uk which hosted in our server and it also forwarded to someone@outlook.com. When I try sending email for example from my Gmail to that address (admin@mydomain.org.uk) saying that the sender domain is not verified despite we have verified the domain mydomain.org.uk in Sendgrid. I guess the sender is now changed to Gmail so Sendgrid refuse to relay the email. Please let me know how to solve this email forwarding. Thanks.
Kind regards,
Asfihani

Hey there! This seems like it may be a better question for Sengrid since they are the ones controlling the mail routing. The only thing I can recommend checking on the cPanel side of things would be the /var/log/exim_mainlog file to see if the message is being sent to the someone@outlook.com address properly on the cPanel side of things. If so, I would expect that message to be sent through Sendgrid as well. I did look through the Sendgrid documentation but I did not find much there about forwarders. 0 -
Thank you cPRex for the prompt reply. I asked Sendgrid support as well and they doesn't seem support email forwarding because the sender domain is being remain the same as the original sender and I think that how the email forwarding work to avoid loops. Thank you for the feedback we will simply disable email forwarding or setup another server outside Google Cloud that ac as relay. 0 -
I'm glad they were able to get you a quick answer on that! 0
