Cpanel whm non-responsive internal service error 500

I am getting massive numbers of notifications: FAILED: cpanel_php_fpm, HANG: chkservd, FAILED: spamd, High 5 minue load average alert, FAILED: clamd, etc. Previously I got an update failure notice: cPanel & WHM update failure in upcp script

The cPanel & WHM update process failed for the following reason:
