Hey hey! It might be more accurate to say "AutoSSL doesn't work with Cloudflare's https redirect system" as Cloudflare in general doesn't break the AutoSSL tools.

I got a message from cPanel that Auto SSL was not going to renew on one of my sites, due to some redirect issue... It's site I am using Cloudflare on, so that made it a weird issue to diagnose. So what it turned out to be was... You cannot have a redirect from HTTP to HTTPS enabled in both cPanel and Cloudflare. When I turned off that particular redirect in CF, Auto SSL processed normally. Note: I think I enabled that check box at Cloudflare myself. It may not be a default setting! So make sure you check this setting when setting up a Cloudflare account.

CloudFlare works on a Different note in terms of HTTPS. If You are using their proxied network, You need to enabled Universal SSL of Cloudflare and Upload an origin certificate given by CloudFlare so that there is end-to-end Encryption and AutoSSL won't work for CloudFlare proxied Network because your Site is actually pointing to 3 CloudFlare IP Addresses which does not belong to the Server. You can use Cloudflare for DNS Use by disabling proxied network and then run AutoSSL which will then work but in this case, Cloudflare is limited to DNS only and not CDN or Load Balancing

Well if your dumb like me, and enable stuff you're not supposed to, it does! lol Lesson learned. :)

Just wondering if there is a plugin to help this yet? We're getting more and more CloudFlare users that are not getting their SSL updated. It's pretty difficult to get them to change their name servers until SSL is updated and then change it back. But they want to still use the CloudFlare CDN

If there is such a thing, I'm not aware of it.
