You can use this API call to do that work: whmapi1 set_default type='default' name='basic'

This can be executed in terminal?, will affect to all new accounts?. Haven't any option in WHM?. Thank you very much. Have a nice day.

That will effect all new accounts as well since it will be the new default. You can do this in WHM through the Customize section under the "Customize Style" tab.

  • Is there a way to fully "delete" all remnants of glass theme from server - as though it never existed?

No, there isn't going to be a way to do that.

Some feedback to the iconless themes: - To make it easier to read the many text options, how about making each category a floating widget, and always make the text be 1 column, with less line-height. - Added an example image of how it could look, which makes it much easier on the eye, to find relevant functions, without have to read left and right.

@AzeDK - I've made our UI team aware of the suggestion!

I don't know if this will matter but: - most of my clients hate glass theme - most of my clients like classic theme - most of my client like Larry Roundcube theme - I personally like to test new stuff and if better I will gladly accept it and stick to it. But in this case, like my clients, I also prefer classic theme over other themes, and Larry theme in Roundcube. Larry theme has one important feature: Sort by size clearly visible and accessible. Glass theme has one major flaw: No icons. Humans are very visual and icons tremendously help to remember and navigate Please don't enforce your vision over already proven and widely acceptable design and functionality. I do hope that classic style will remain!

Hello clopezi! We greatly appreciate your feedback. If you have any ideas or suggestions for improving the Glass theme, please submit a feature request using the "Submit a Feature Request" link in my signature below.

Submit a Feature Request is an extremely slow process that can eventually (years?) get a change to be considered for implementation. cPanel bypassed this Submit a Feature Request to "remove all icons from cPanel" immediately without consultation with customers or the same process. Your project managers and designers simply proceeded, unencumbered by that process. It is extremely unfair and lopsided to ask us to plead for something that will very likely take years to amass the votes to undo something that went through no similar community approval process. You didn't spend years convincing customers to do it, you just did it. Please don't ask us to spend years fighting to undo it.

"Go submit a feature request" is the polite way of saying "go f* yourself" to your client base.

It seems that you are quite pissed with this reckless change in UI. And I fully support you. I installed one server with edge, and after finding out that there is no way to get paper lantern back, it took me 3 seconds to reinstall the server. A bloody useless pile of text. Luckily I pay license via datacenter much less than cpanel asks for it directly. Otherwise it would be byebye. As I said, imagine a car with all buttons text only.....would you buy it?

Edge has icons now btw, and it looks great.

Thank you for letting everyone here know! While certain design choices may seem questionable, I can assure everyone that we listen to feedback constantly. Our developers worked diligently to get icons back as quickly as possible and it's now on the horizon.
