Cpanel Directory to a second Drive
Hi there
We're on azure and want that Cpanels Userdata is stored into Azure File Share. So we would mount it on each VM and all Cpanel Servers would Save date into it.
As far as i know i would just need to mount it via bash and change the directory in WHM. Right?
Or isn't this supported?
Reasons:
Cost Saving - we wouldnt need to have empty GB, each time we upgrade the drives
Security - in case of a fail server, we can use the latest snapshot, without dataloss
Scaling - when we want to migrate users into an other server, it would be in blink of an eye.
Kind regards

Can you elaborate this please? but from the sound of it this would be something not supported by cPanel. 0 -
So if I understand correctly you want to put all cPanel accounts under /home which will be on Azure Files and will be mounted to the server. This is possible yes but the performance will be lower if you put this on NFS and such plus you have to be careful with network as any network problems could result in file corruption. So this is tricky but possible. I wouldn't recommend it though. 0 -
thanks guys the friendly Trex has spoken. I just had that in mind and on prod i would stay with Storage Disks. My Idea would be, that the whole Home Directory would be on the NFS. Backups would be done classic with JetBackup with SFTP to another Storage. In my test lab i will try it with NFS and look, what could go wrong. 0
