I haven't got any emails like that. " asking them to open email attachments " does not sound good... It's quite easy to make emails look like they are coming from cpanel.

Do not open those emails as if any update coming on Cpanel they will ask you to update when you log in on your account.

Thanks for the replies. I figured as much but wanted to confirm as the headers all looked legit. One of my clients opened the attachment out of curiosity (Don't ask) and it provided an html page with a login to a fake cPanel page. I have since scolded him and he assures me he closed it down without trying to login. My mailscanner (csf) software is catching most of them but a couple have gotten through. I have tried to learn them as "spam" but the results come back as 0 messages read unless I learn them as "spam and report" so the spammer has learned how to circumvent the learning features of mailscanner it seems. Thanks for the help.

cPanel does not know who your customers are and 'technically' cPanel does not even know who you are, since you have your license through a 3rd party. It's pretty easy to add /cpanel to just about any domain and come up with a really large list of phishing targets.

Hello nootkan! As the others have suggested, those don't appear to be any emails we've sent out. I am glad to hear that you have identified this as well. If you have any other questions or concerns, please let us know!
