Issue with AutoSSL
Hi
Have a number of servers and hosts and have an interesting issue - first time I've ever seen it - trying to do AutoSSL and getting this issue
10:18:09 AM Performing HTTP DCV (Domain Control Validation) on 5 domains "
10:18:09 AM Redirection #1 (clientdomain.com):
WARN Local HTTP DCV error (clientdomain.com): "cPanel (powered by Sectigo)" forbids DCV HTTP redirections.
Redirection #1 (www.clientdomain.com):
WARN Local HTTP DCV error (www.clientdomain.com): "cPanel (powered by Sectigo)" forbids DCV HTTP redirections.
It looks like it is trying to redirect from http to https on the same domain and then failing to register the certificate.
Only happening on one account - any suggestions appreciated on how to resolve.
TIA
Dave

Hello dave99! The HTTPS redirect on the domain will prevent the DCV check from completing, thus preventing the certificate from being installed. Could you temporarily remove any HTTPS redirects for the domain and try running AutoSSL on the user once more? We look forward to hearing back from you! 0 -
Same issue but support team always told me issue with domain registrar I check with domain registrar he said it's cpanel issue 0 -
HI it seems issues with redirection setup on your sites which is preventing your request. 0 -
Bhavnish does your site automatically redirect from HTTP to HTTPS or to any other locations? 0 -
In this case it ended up being Cloudflare's 'Always Use https' in the SSL/TLS tab. Had to turn this off, renew the SSL, then turn it back on. 1 -
Glad to hear that you got that figured out! I'll go ahead and mark this forum as solved for now. 0 -
If you found this post then another possibility you would receive HTTP DCV warning/error: Cloudflare introduced Security/Bots/Bot Fight Mode, which if enabled along with "Under Attack Mode" presented this issue. Disabling "Under Attack Mode" Cloudflare's security feature reports HTTP DCV OK. 0 -
I was able to resolve this issue by temporarily turning off "Automatic HTTPS Rewrites" and "Always Use HTTPS" in the Edge Certificates part of SSL/TLS section in Cloudflare and then clicking on the Auto-SSL on WHM 0
