I'd suggest that you use IMAPSYNC:

I would also recommend imapsync - it has worked well on many mail migrations in the past.

Thanks for your answer. I had seen those threads, and others too, I think it's going to be more complicated than I thought. If I have full access to the entire old server, from what I see, the mail, folders, files ... etc ... I think that's what is called maildir has the same structure. As I have an old cpanel backup (this account was already in cpanel) it would be to restore it and then with an rsync add the new emails, as I say, the structures and files are the same. The problem would be if I did not have that previous backup of cpanel, which although it is from a long time ago, it serves the purpose for me. I think with rsync I can. But this is theory, until I put it into practice ... Thanks.

I can't say for sure on that one since I haven't examined a CWP system. If the mail structure is the same, I would expect a standard rsync to work well.

I can put a screenshot of the CWP email structure (so it can serve other users and cPanel) but I see them the same, same structure, same files, everything the same. Keep in mind that, my client told me that CWP if they have an import tool from cPanel and that was the one they used, after a while, they have decided to come back to me with cPanel. I think that being the same structure and so on, it is possible that rsync works. Then later I will put a capture (covering the sensitive data).

First of all, sorry for the delay in this reply, lately I don't have time for everything :) I have seen that the structure is the same, below I put a screenshot of the structure of the mail folder (it is in / var / vmail / account name / folders corresponding to the different mail accounts) and I see it the same as in cPanel. Once inside a folder of an email account, I see the same structure. I have not done the test yet, I have to find one day that my client under cpanel does not have the server in production and can perform the tests, but I think that, having the email accounts created, an rsync will be enough: (I delete the owner name because is the name of the web ... :))

Hey there! Given the similarity in file structures, I don't foresee any reason it shouldn't work aside from ownerships. However, if there are issues with the permissions or ownerships, those can likely be corrected via chown
    and chmod
. If you encounter other issues or have any additional questions or concerns, please let us know!
