Easyapache bug with php 7.3?
Ver: CENTOS 7.9 kvm [ns1] v96.0.11
For the last 6+ months, when I remove PHP 7.3 in easyapache, it comes right back an unknown amount of time later.
Yesterday I removed PHP7 completely and selected PHP8 only. Was fine, then today, PHP 7.3 had snuck right back in.
Also when I changed all users to php8 in the php manager, it did not apply to them all, even though it said it did.

Hey hey! I can't say I've seen similar behavior on my end. Since those packages are all rpm-based now, there would have to be some type of install command to trigger them to reappear. Do you see any evidence of them being reinstalled in /var/log/yum.log? 0 -
Yes, and 2 days ago I again removed it in Easyapache and it came back yesterday. I'm wondering if you have a tool that is installing the WordPress cpaddon, and that is causing the other packages to be included as a dependency. The log is showing that *something* is triggering Yum to perform that work, although I can't say for sure what that is based on the output. 0 -
Thanks, I appreciate it. My coworkers do have wordpress for our front-end, so that clears it up. 0 -
Hello again! I removed all wordpress sites from my server but I still keep finding that cpanel reinstalls PHP 7.3 when I'm not looking. 0 -
Can you let me know the specific package name that is being reinstalled? 0 -
PHP 7.3 and extensions. I just ran: rpm -e wp-toolkit-cpanel Let me see if it stops now. 0 -
It came back again. Well, it seems to not mess with anything so I will just leave it. 0 -
You can also check the /var/log/yum.log to see if it's being installed as a group with other things. If you can't find anything there, you're welcome to open a ticket so our team can take a look. 0 -
I have the same problem? 0 -
@Brmgina - could you create a ticket with our team for this issue? 0 -

Ticket opened. Thank you!
Seems to have been something that required this older version of PHP73 under the "Install cPAddons Site Software" in WHM. Thanks again.0 -
I'm glad they could help! 0
