Wordpress Toolkit Pushing Updates
I am looking at using the Wordpress toolkit for development, (which I am) but my site is e-commerce and I have customers/orders and many custom database tables.
My concern is that, I do changes on the site and test plugins before pushing to live site. How can I push changes without overwriting customers order tables, and many other custom tables I have ?
I know you can select one by one which tables in the db to push to live but there are 400 tables so this would be hard to go through the list every time I want to update, then if I got one table wrong it would be overwritten.
My questions is, does the staging site know to only push files which are newer to the live site or will it push all?
Is there any more detailed documentation on the Wordpress toolkit developers site? the documentation available that I can find is not very detailed.
Many thanks,
-
Hey there! I'm not 100% sure on that behavior so I have reached out to our team about this. I'll be sure to post an update here once I have one. 0 -
I talked to our team about this today and they showed me the following options: The existing tables are completely overwritten with this option as there is not an attempt made to merge the data. Does that help with your situation? 0 -
could I ask for a feature request that you can select tables, but actually remember the selection so you dont have to choose every table every time? Many thanks, 0 -
You're welcome to submit a request using the link in my signature. I can't guarantee that is something that will get added, but our team will review it. 0
