Limiting Webmail Access to users actively using it
Hi everyone
We have a lot of problems with users clicking on links and typing in their login details. The scammers then use webmail to send their fraudulent mails. As most of our users actually only use mail clients, I was wondering if there is a way in which I can disable webmail access for a domain and just selectively give user who are actively using webmail access.
Thanks

Hello! I would recommend using Host Access Control. This will allow you to block access to webmail completely, except for IP addresses that are specifically whitelisted in the allow list. Anyone who doesn't have their IP in this list will not be granted access. Please note that this would require someone with root-level access to manually add the IP addresses to the allow list on behalf of the customer. In regards to locking down webmail to specific email accounts, this functionality would not be possible within cPanel. 0 -
Ok thanks. The problem is that the users that do use webmail mostly do so while travelling, so they won't have a fixed IP. 0 -
I understand completely, thank you for the confirmation. I am not sure of a solution that would fit your specific needs, but perhaps some other users here might have a suggestion. 0
