Reset public_html to make way for a brand new OpenCart installation
Hello, all
So my organization has a server dedicated for me to develop a brand new instance of an OpenCart website. The problem is that I had previously had to use this server for a different OpenCart project. Now we're thinking that installing a brand new OpenCart instance would probably be easier. I've deleted the databases that the previous OpenCart instance was using and now I'm moving on to the public_html/ folder. Which files/folders should I keep in there?
My research has so far indicated that I should keep the following folders:
.well-known folder
.ftpquota file
.php.ini file (the comments on this file say to keep it)

I also forgot but they also say to leave the .cgi-bin folder 0 -
You could create a new folder, move all the files/folders there so you can be sure if anything is still needed that can be restored. Alternatively you can ask them to re-create your account so you can start empty. 0 -
Hello! Andrew's suggestions here are on point. Recreating the account would likely be easier than figuring out which files to keep. You could also create a new cPanel account and confirm which files exist in public_html by default. However, the directories you mentioned can be kept. 0 -
I spoke with my hosts and here are the files and folders they suggested to keep: .well-known/ cgi-bin/ .user.ini php.ini 0 -
Sounds good! 0
