ea-php* packages patched by CloudLinux or not?
Hi,
I'm getting mixed responses on this question.
cPanel says that CloudLinux doesn't patch ea-php packages - they only patch the alt-php ones.
A few years ago, I asked CloudLinux about this. They said that ea-php packages are patched (as long as you get them from the CloudLinux repositories).
Which is true? Did CloudLinux at some point patch the packages and now they don't?
I haven't been able to find any real answer to my question. Reading through CloudLinux' documentation gives me the impression that patched PHP versions is in alt-php - it doesn't state anything regarding ea-php AFAIK.

Hello! I am speaking with CloudLinux now for clarification, but I believe it's the alt-php packages that get security patches from CloudLinux. I will update this thread soon. 0 -
Thank you. I'm aware that alt-php gets patched but two years ago, they told me that ea-php was also being patched. Although, they put patched in quotation marks so I'm not entirely sure what that meant. 0 -

I have just got confirmation from CloudLinux. They do indeed patch any ea-php versions that are outdated. So, both ea-php and alt-php get security updates from CloudLinux once out of date. Thanks for this inquiry! This has been very useful information to find.0
