Email Queue size. What is this mean?

    It sounds like you have CSF installed. It tries to send you an email if there are too many emails in the queue. The 'timeout' normally happens when the server load is high and you can't get the number of messages in the queue. If it happens once in a while I would not worry about it much. If it's happening on a regular basis, I'd look at what's causing the load on the server.

    In CSF configuration there is setting LF_QUEUE_ALERT (default: 2000). "Checks the length of the exim queue and sends an alert email if the value of settings is exceeded. " So probably you have quite a lot emails in the email queue. You can check it in WHM -> Email -> Email Queue Manager.

    Go into WHM --> Queue Manager and see what the state of your queue looks like. And/or just type "exiqgrep" from the shell Sometimes it's somebody sending a big mailing list (it is Christmas Time in most places). But often a spammer has hijacked an email account, and IF that is what happened you do not want to ignore it.
