Adding custom proxy_pass to location / in NGINX

Hello, I'm trying to add a custom proxy_pass to "conf.d/users/username.conf" in "location /", but It gets overwritten. I tried adding it to "conf.d/includes-optional/cpanel-proxy-vendors/", and I get a conflict about duplicated proxy_pass directives. Is there any way of solving this?
