@Spirogg - cPanel license providers do need to offer some level of service to become a Partner. That doesn't mean they will all be equal, and if you have root access to the server you are still welcome to contact us for support.

I do have root access and I did put in for a ticket. Took 2 days for one and 3 for another. But when I had a temp lic purchased from cPanel directly it was 4-6 hours and got a reply. That"s a lot of difference in timing. So as I said priority is given to WHM purchases directly even though partners and their lic holders pay cPanel for the lic. We still get left behind. 2 days is ridiculous to wait for support from cPanel. Just cause my server provider got me a lic for a couple dollars cheaper for my server. But if I paid the full price from cPanel I would get priority support. 4/6 hours. That sounds like a lot of bs to me. Was not like that before. I understand your point as well as partners required to give some level of support. But if they can"t fix the issue then we should not have to wait 2 days or more for a response. That"s all I"m saying we"re still cPanel paying customers.

Our ticket system does prioritize tickets based on where the license is purchased. One of the perks of the direct license is priority support. That has always been the policy with support tickets as long as I have been at the company.

I"ve never had to wait 2 days for a ticket reply. Maybe just a busy week then. Either way. I"m just venting. Not toward you in anyway. You have always been helpful and are excellent in the forums and your replies Thanks for listening. kind regards Spiro

Oh I know, but I do get it. I think you did get the "perfect storm" timing of sorts, with AutoSSL and Jupiter and version 100 and Clam and the Exim transport issues all seeming to happen at once.

I think they got this done by someone on Fiverr.

@Kobor - do you have ideas on what colors you'd prefer, or what you think might work better? Is there a navigation menu in another product that you like better or that you feel provides a better experience?

Yes, the old theme colors I like better .. :) But neutral color, not the high contrast like on new. The more i look at it, the more annoys me. Old theme fully collapsed -> almost everything fits on display New theme fully collapsed -> i need to scroll for the last 5-6 . We buy bigger and bigger monitors, but the designers make more and more pages for phones, and bloody need to scroll all the time on desktop, where we do 99% of the work Old theme, i select a menu item -> can clearly see what item is selected. The position of everything stays the same New theme, i select a menu item -> EasyApache almost the same color/style like other Ip Functions, Software etc. The menu moved up, Server Configuration ...system reboot are out, non visible. A menu shouldn't bloody jump around .

What essentially says all is when you type "list" to the search bar, you get everything expect "List Accounts". o_O

Oh damn; "List accounts" is the primary function I use on WHM .... yet another reason to stick to Paper Lantern.

Rex are there any plans to provide a overview page of which features are confirmed, rejected or being investigated with regards to user survey, suggestions and complaints? I know we have the up next page that cPanel provides at Up Next | cPanel but that is really a broad overview of all functions for major releases and not tailored to cases like these. However it would be a good framework to use for controversial changes like this theme and would go a long way to keep everyone informed and prevent some doubleposts. It would also save us having to jump between threads and filter out the discussions from the decisions. To clarify I just asked one of our designers to make a quick mock-up based on the current cardsystem.

The new theme just sucks. I don't really any improvment, so for me is useless. I don't want to work from phone, so i don't care about any responsive arguments .

Yes, The new theme is really useless. I have being using WHM for 15+ years and I had ability to navigate through WHM closing my eyes / while I was able to assist someone even looking at screen. The new them does not offer same level of navigation. Only the useful option is search button in top to find what I am looking for. Now sure how this gone live without user acceptance.

Wow, what a horrible theme. Bland, lacking icons and colour, and excessive empty space. I also don't see any value in the menu on the left. Higher prices and yet taking backwards steps? Fine if you keep the previous theme alongside this one, but to remove it and force us on this crap? Yuk. A large part of why I haven't moved to different software was the user interface, and that reason has now gone.

Seeing the development of this topic, I only notice that Cpanel doesn't care about its customers. We're really getting this theme done. The documentation for editing jupiter is a disgrace. Today, you can only change the logo and nothing else. cpanel seems desperate to force us to use this crap. Honestly, I have the feeling that a cpanel is no longer equipped with the same quality as before, it hasn't had any UX study. There were no surveys with their customers on a possible new topic. And if almost no one will have received it, then this disastrous development that we are selling will have stopped. I don't see a discussion window with a cpan it will be more a theme will push users that goes buggy for a long time. Here's a tip cpanel Learn with Directadmin, they made a new interface although I find it ugly and it's possible to use your own themes or the old ones. of freedom to your customers and don't force them to follow the bad taste of your ux team.

Leaving some feedback, currently using 102.0.2. TL;DR
    • Please put a stay of execution on Paper Lantern until Jupiter has been properly improved and a dark version of both Cpanel and WHM is available.
    • Icons are too thin, too complex.
    • Vertical spacing of the Cpanel icons is too narrow, making them harder to recognise and use.
    • Far too bright, especially at night or with light sensitivity. Needs a dark theme ASAP!
    • Bland, barren semi-monochrome appearance, add some color!
    • Alternative to API for creating a theme!
    • Fix that persistent almost empty sidebar, please make it collapsible.
I too followed the advice to switch to Jupiter and my first thoughts were terrible? I actually thought it was broken at first, as it was just a bright white page with bland text links, no icons! It was like going back to the 90's or an AMP version of Cpanel! I then read that by updating to 102.0.2 it would have icons, which it does, but they are so completely over complicated, bland, color-less to the point that most are very difficult to recognise without increased focus. Then the icing on the cake... no dark theme, at all! It is extremely uncomfortable and sometimes painful to use at night, I'm light sensitive and bright screens make me sneeze and my eyes stream. It's 4:20 am (I also suffer from insomnia) and again I find I'm trying to use Cpanel and WHM with the Jupiter theme and it really is a terrible, user experience. Using Cpanel via my iPad is again also a poor experience because the complete was of screen real estate that is the almost empty sidebar is not collapsible and it's too wide. It leaves not enough space. Navigation is hopelessly clunky. It took me ages just to find the version number at the bottom of the page. Also the File Manager is still a pain to use in terms of highlighting and select text via a tablet. In 2022, it should no longer be the case that such terrible accessibility and UXP issues exist, neither should we have to plead for a darker interface. It's really to the detriment of the end users, web hosts, Cpanel, everyone. Sorry but it feels like the decision makers and UI team that are responsible for creating and approving the current Jupiter theme, the lack of prompt fixes whilst ignoring so many basic rules in the UI user experience book should be replaced with a properly qualified and experienced provider.

Side Bar 1 - can you make the text on the left smaller in latest edge version in WHM Make it the same size as the main section titles ( the text is so large it looks horrible and really bothers my eyes.) im a little dyslexic and really messes me up.), ----- I like the old menu text size better way easier to read and find things and the search bar there was awesome as well in the left menu. 2- another background color that's not as overwhelming - too am colorblind and this really hurt my eyes. Main Section 2 - can they remove from the dropdown the load averages and add it to the top left of the search box. there is so much room there it's just empty space 3 also in that same empty space left of the search bar when there is an update can we put the update bar there as well and our OS version and cPanel version. thanks Spiro

I realize the related Feature Request thread.) [QUOTE] We're spending the additional time to pursue the following things (unordered list):
    • Reschedule the debut of the deprecation message in Paper Lantern to much later this year.
    • Remove the Solutions section from Jupiter :2083 entirely until an upcoming project can fully realize the guided assistance features and customization features.
    • Increase the supported sizes of your company logo in Jupiter :2083.
    • Provide the means to inject your custom content into areas throughout Jupiter :2083 much the same way as in Paper Lantern.
    • Restore the left navigation to WHM and address scrolling/positional bugs.
    • Enhance the new icon set with thicker lines and more color.
    • Provide the means to personalize the Top Tools section of WHM's index.
    • Provide load averages and other server statistics directly on the WHM index page, turning the page into more of a dashboard.
    • Provide a UI inside WHM which facilitates basic customization of cpanel :2083).
Additionally, we are addressing a blockage in our translation pipeline which will increase the number of strings sent off for translation nearly double. Expect finished translation in later releases as translators finish their work.
We've worked with our release teams to set these changes up to arrive in our EDGE and CURRENT tiers as soon as they are ready. If you're not already evaluating builds from those tiers, please give them a try so that we can get your feedback as we move quickly through this list! We'll have more to share about Paper Lantern in the next week or two.

@Bogdan I. - I forgot to mention that version 94 is the current LTS, which doesn't have Jupiter, so you could stay on that for a while. However, I would anticipate that 102 becomes the next LTS at some point this year, but that will be after it has been in Stable for a while. So you can still stay on LTS for a bit and not be forced into the new theme just yet.

Not sure how that will fix the issue at hand. STABLE is at 100 right now. There is no way to downgrade to 94. The next STABLE is supposed to be 102. The timing is just bad. The "proper" workflow when doing such drastic UI changes would have been to:
    • make the current STABLE (100) LTS
    • introduce WHM Jupiter, cPanel Jupiter in 102 as alternatives, so you can gather feedback
    • mark paper_lantern (cpanel) and x (WHM) as deprecated
That way, everyone who is rolling STABLE could choose their upgrade preference to LTS once it dropped, and hopefully await for the WHM Jupiter fixes so they can go back to STABLE (or RELEASE) at a point. Again, to reiterate: the timing is terrible, because people who are on 100 now have absolutely no way to delay the transition to WHM Jupiter.

@cPanelAdamF - Also it would be nice to have a search bar top left menu and maybe right below the WHM logo put the live load averages then we can see our load averages without having to click on anything this would be a nice touch Regards, Spiro

I'm solely here because there are no icons when I switch to Jupiter, I've changed all accounts on vps and now stuck with terrible gui, since cpanel likes to raise licensing maybe we can get a credit back due to the "time" many will use in dealing with this. Because our time is money and the purpose of cpanel is to save us time.
We want the old interface, I've never seen such a bad useless gui in my life. pls send me steps to revert to old theme

@cPanelAdamF Here is another lighter color of side menu in your cPanel forums. With nice font sizing This would be also a nice touch to the left menu in WHM when viewing in mobile. And desktop. And even when viewing 2083 Click to hide and view left menu. Thanks SPIRO

    • Provide load averages and other server statistics directly on the WHM index page, turning the page into more of a dashboard.
This would be a great idea if you could add how many accounts we have and resellers total number active. With a link to click on to go to "list accounts" and list "resellers " - also is there a way to get some kind of dashboard feature to show how many emails have been sent from users and resellers total. So if we see for today we have 250,346 emails out. And later we log in and see 500,000 we can click on a link and see a list of accounts that have sent out emails and possibly find a culprit sending out spam from their account. I know we have logs but this would be nice touch to show it on dash board. Like each update would be from the last hour log. Or 1/2 hour or 15 mins. Etc. Disk usage our total and used for the server Ram total and used for the server these would be a nice touch to have in the main page in WHM dashboard. just my ideas thanks SPIRO

PS Don't make the text in the left panel of WHM and cPanel white.. its too bright and all that white makes it so hard to read the text.. also the font size should be max 14 if not 12 or 13 @cPanelAdamF PLEASE - as in one example above the left panel when you click on a category it opens up and all text is nice easy readable color, then to differantiate what link you clicked on - (you can make that text a brighter color only) to show that it has been selected. this would make it so much easier to read and to know what you have selected... Thanks again Kind Regards, Spiro
