Yes very difficult functionally, Icons used to be there to make us spot the option without reading the text, now they all look alike and similar

Complete mess. Luckily it was a brand new server and ended up reinstalling it :D

Hello! Unfortunately, I am not seeing way to undo this change yet at the time. I am inquiring further and will try to get an update here as soon as I can.

Is the left hand menu completely gone in the re-work? I can appreciate the move to a responsive design, however, not everyone administrates on a mobile device. It would be nice for the home screen to support widgets so that I could drag/drop the functions I need most, which would then make losing the left hand menu more palatable.

Really seeing the new theme of WHM v102 I consider it to be a setback in terms of productivity and usability, I am sure that many of us use the left search bar, also personally I have always felt more comfortable with the theme (paper lantern) by default than " glass theme" which is very annoying to look at in cPanel. It would be nice, as mentioned above, to be able to choose which theme that would be enough (of course, while some aspects of the new theme are improved)

Have you tried the mobile apps. They work perfectly with current WHM theme.

    I haven't, however, I don't have a need to, I'm at a terminal 99% of the time.

Hello! I am going to forward these concerns to the right people and will try to get a response here as soon as I can.

You have made WHM unusable!! The people making design decisions clearly don't use WHM or cPanel. Please bring back the search function on the left side menu to work as it did previously.

It's different. Not horrid, but different. I'll definitely state that much. But, instead of just leaving it there - some thoughts and observations. After all, how can it improve if we all just say "THIS SUX!!! [COLOR=rgb(204, 204, 204)]DESIGNER IS SMOKING CRACK - WILL NOT USE! ARGHH!" (spaghetti flies everywhere) 1.) Upon the theme/template being installed after the update the first run/install screen (w/ the T&C's) wouldn't load in FireFox. Just a blank screen. However, would load in Brave, Chrome, Opera, Vivaldi and (cringe) Edge. Did not test mobile versions. This was tested in Win10, Win11, and Fedora34 environments. 2.) By default, I think the sub-menu on the left should appear on first load. AND REMAIN. As it did before. It now only appears after making a selection in the main menu. Previously I used to like to "hyper-scroll" to the bottom of the sub-menu, for say, the plugins. 3.) Kudos to the team for listening, regarding the previous concerns by others regarding the plugins section. 4.) Thankful that it isn't straight Jupiter/glass like was probably planned previously. I appreciate the little in-line images/icons. That said, I think the same should be used on the left hand menu. 5.) Totally agree with [COLOR=rgb(209, 72, 65)]@bellwood that a GIANT move forward would be to allow "widgets" to customize the main screen. This would allow placement of our most used sections at first load. I think this would actually work as "virtual valium" for those that are currently absolutely losing it over the new design. (I'm not poking fun at those that are, it just is counter-productive IMO). Those are just the things that immediately jump out at me.

What essentially says all is when you type "list" to the search bar, you get everything expect "List Accounts". o_O

We want the old interface, I've never seen such a bad useless gui in my life.

So this unpolished potato of an UI is actually getting pushed to Current and then to Stable in this state? This potato that literally destroys the #1 feature that people use to get around the WHM menu, mainly SEARCH?

Without having used the new design yet, I think it seems way more modern than the current WHM design. I think that there's a trend currently. Everyone hates everything that's being worked on for cPanel right now. Jupiter with the Glass style was a huge mistake. This? It doesn't look bad and will probably just take a few days to get used to. Has the rest of the UI been changed as well? I hope it's not going to be like Manage2 where 20% of the UI has gotten a "new" look while the rest of the interface was just neglected in the update process :-p

The theme has not been included in Stable (not even Release) tiers at this point. The only possible way that you can experience the theme right now is if you've opted for release candidates or testing versions of cPanel. When you access WHM on a server running v102, you're even greeted by a message that asks for feedback on the new theme.
Changing the theme is going to be very complicated to re-educate now, moving in WHM a production space is wanting to kill all productivity in scale.

It shouldn't be. The different categories are shown in the same order as previously and they have the same subcategories as before. The only "real" change is that the "home" page no longer has the sidebar. I don't think that's a deal breaker. I've now spent a few hours in the new theme and here's my thoughts on what could be changed:
    • Sections on the "Home" page could be re-arranged by the admin (like in cPanel)
    • The search function seems to have gotten a bit dumber (e.g searching for "List" doesnt' show "List Accounts", searching for "Locale" doesn't show "Edit a Locale")
    • I miss some kind of icons on the sidebar
    • "Top Tools" should actually show the tools we use the most (or let us configure the shown tools manually)
    • Add an option to toggle the sidebar on the "Home" page like this:
    • The design needs to be consistent - it feels like the old design has just been wrapped inside something new
    • There's LOTS of space in the top bar that isn't used for anything. Why not move the breadcrumb up there?
    • I don't like having to click the "Server Menu" button to see what the server load or version of cPanel is
I can no doubt live with this theme. Overall, I think it's an improvement compared to the old one. And people, instead of just saying "design looks shit, i hate it", use a few seconds/minutes to describe what is wrong with the design.

@DennisMidjord The justifications are void in defending cpanel I'm testing everything on an approval machine. The chaos is that cpanel made a UX with the face of someone who is on the first day of the designer course It's no use saying that whoever updated will be harmed since the 102 is the next candidate thing of 7 days at most and everyone will be forced to use it.

@Bakugan So, let me get this straight... You know (without a doubt) that this theme is going to roll out to "Stable" within a short period of time. You are fully aware that you can't prevent them from releasing the update. Instead of doing contributing with something useful, your only argument is something like "it's ugly". Don't you think that's just a waste of time? Why not explain why the new design is not well received by you? The old WHM design was in no way modern or practical. I'm guessing the only reason people "liked" it is because they got used to it and could probably navigate the interface with their eyes closed. That should never stop something from receiving a well-earned design update, though. Most people complaining about the new design in this thread didn't even spend a day before they started complaining. They did not try to get used to it. And I'd most certainly bet that they started with a "I guarantee I'm not going to like this"-feeling before even experiencing the design on their own. Long story short: If you want to gain anything from complaining, you should give the designers something to work with. When they released the Jupiter theme, people had a lot of complaints (most of them regarding the removal of icons in the theme) - and now the latest version of Jupiter has icons. If you provide constructive feedback, and if multiple people agree with you, there's a chance that whatever you suggested could be implemented.

@DennisMidjord I have 3 accounts with cpanel I have already contributed as much as I could in all of them I was instructed here are some of the points I have already taken: cpanel does not fix common problems already cataloged as a simple translation of the email page and you want to convince me that they really care about something? These are superficial points that have had months and months to work on and just didn't make them. Jupiter has been announced for over 5 months and they couldn't see a simple responsive issue Really their UX team is disappointing I escalated these issues for them on the 18th, understand buddy cpanel doesn't care about quality anymore. Jupiter will only be "STABLE" there for version 105 until there will be this bomb we see.

I agree with you on the amount of space available on the Jupiter theme (but that's another theme that hasn't gotten anything to do with WHM, though). It can't be fixed pretty easily by removing the "container-lg" class on the div for the main content. The "Site Monitor" error is also related to cPanel and not WHM (and not even theme related). We also get that error. AFAIK, it's not available in Stable yet, so hopefully it's fixed by then. Now, the only issue you seem to be reporting that's actually about the new WHM theme is the search function (unless I misunderstand what you're trying to say), and that has already been mentioned multiple times. I'm sure that will get fixed as well.

Is the main complaint with Search that it's not in the left sidebar, or that when typing "list" that "List Accounts" doesn't immediately come to the top? I'm just looking for clarity on what you'd like adjusted with the search.

Agree! Most admins probably only interface with a very small set of features from WHM on a given day. Customizability would make many of the other changes much more palatable. That said, something needs to be shared here. I think most people do not realize that the current production WHM interface is pretty much the same exact experience that has shipped with the product since the late 90's and early 2000's. There have been coats of paint, yes, but the UX frame is identical. Some might say vintage. See as an example:

My suggestion for the new interface is that the left menu options are always visible. Right now, when we select any menu, it appears and then disappears, it would be good for the left menu to always be visible so that we don't become unfamiliar with the old interface. In addition, it would be nice to use small logos in the left menu, as in the old interface.

I'm about 99% sure the left menu being always visible is going to happen. Not sure about the tiny logos in that menu though.

Well both. Search at left top is the familiar way to use the search. This should be at least option. After more than ten years using the search daily from the left it is really hard to learn to use it in the middle. And the search clearly do not work well. It really should list the items that include the search string. You can add more to the list from keywords related but the main results should be strictly from the search string. Typing "List" should give first items starting with "List" in alphabetical order (this will give "List Accounts" first), then it should give all the items including word "list" (including greylisting etc) and after that it could give items that has that string as added keyword.

Noted - like I've mentioned, the left sidebar is almost certainly going to be always on, and the List Accounts searchability issue has been brought up to the team a few times already.

How can I revert back to the old theme until a usable version of the theme is developed? When I am accessing WHM I need to do it at speed and from muscle memory. The new theme truely impedes my speed and blows my brain because things aren't where I need them to be.

@cchalmers - the only way to keep the old interface at this time is to keep the server on version 100. We do not plan to offer both or an option to switch to a "classic" mode at this time.

One more opinion. New theme is crap. It's soooooooooo uncomfortable. What I did in few seconds now takes several minutes! Why you hate your customers?
