Can't send emails from the same server if MS Exchange is available
Hello,
I have multiple accounts on my VPS server, I noticed that I cannot send emails from accounts using webmail to other accounts using Microsoft Exchange, I get a bounce back message :
LMTP error after RCPT TO::
550 5.1.1 User doesn't exist:
user@domainwithexchagne.com
Any idea how I can resolve this issue ?
Thank you

You have to go into e-mail routing configuration and set the domains that use an external mail server to remote mail exchanger. 0 -

Where do you mean ? in server cPanel WHM ?0 -
Are you sending email from the same domain that you are sending it to? I.e. the same domain is added to local (cPanel) email service and remote (Microsoft Exchange Server) mail service and you are attempting to send an email from that domain from local mailbox to remote one. If that is the case, that is not possible. In case you have "Local Mail Exchanger" set up for the domain in "Email Routing" menu in cPanel, cPanel will always look for domain mailboxes locally and will not be able to send them to remote location. And even if you change it to "Remote Mail Exchanger" for that domain, you will not be able to use cPanel to send emails from that domain. If he has the same domain for cpanel account and the exchange enviroment, he can make redirects to the @onmicrosoft.com, if that's not the case he has to login into the cpanel account afected and in the mail block, look for email routing, now he has to select the domain which need to have external routing and mail should start getting into the exchange server. 0 -
