I'm pretty sure that error number 127 is "command not found" (at least in bash). Per the other message, I'd open a cPanel support ticket and have them look at the installation logs.

Same here - also fresh centos 7 install (FATAL): The background process "SQL Databases and dependent apps" failed with a fatal error: The subprocess reported error number 127 when it ended.

@cPanelAnthony Would this be the same error people are getting when updating?

I believe it's the same issue, tried to install cPalel with MySQL, failed, then installed cPanel with MariaDB without problems.

The problem still persists in the default installation of mysql 5.7. When we re-install by adding the mariadb server from the /root/cpanel_profile/cpanel.config file, the installation is completed.

The GPG keys for the new release has been changed. See this for further info: Ubuntu: wget -q -O

Hi, I have run through the insatllation and included updating the mysql GPG key before running the installer but I get the following: [2360] (FATAL): The background process "SQL Databases and dependent apps" filed with a fatal error: the subprocess reported error number 127 when it ended then [1520] (FATAL) the system failed to run the /urs/loca/cpanel/scripts/cpanel_initial_install script # I've run the installer from fresh Centos 7 minimal a dozen times now, with some preconfig changes fora each failure, but now, and not sure where to go from here. Cheers, S.

Had the same issue - I use a USB Stick I configured about 4 weeks ago to install centos 7.9. After about 10 efforts, found you need to run the yum kernel update and rpm -import processes. Looks like the new sh latest is intolerant of older kernels and sql. On its own the rpm - update did not work nor the kernel update - it needed both.
