Hey Guys, So followed this:

  For CentOS 7 and 8 the official version is available is logwatch-7.4 you can check more details at Logwatch Download (DEB, PKG, RPM, TGZ, TXZ, XZ, ZST) logwatch-7.5 has been released for Ubuntu 20.04 LTS

  @kodeslogic thanks for the helpful answer. Explains why the installs have 7.4 then. I take it that newer versions are not supported on CentOS 7/8 then? if so, strange considering 7.5 has been out for quite some time now.

  Yes, you got that correct CentOS 7/8 at this moment supports up to logwatch-7.4

  That's one of those packages that's up to the operating system to provide, and they just haven't bumped to the newer version yet.
