Change primary server domain / hostname

Hi all, what is the correct way when changing server's primary domain and hostname? I used an old domain for initial setup years ago and now I'd like to change it, hopefully without a complete breakdown because I have several active domains there at the moment. Any tips are greatly appreciated. Thank you

  1st, there is no such a things as " server's primary domain", if you server's hostname is host.domain.com, domain.com can be hosted anywhere, and it works as longs as host.domain.com resolves to your server's main IP. If you want to change server's hostname to host.anotherdomain.com 1st set an A record for host in the DNS zone of anotherdomain.com so that it points to your server's main IP, after that you can change hostname in WHM. Server's hostname change does not break down any websites in your server.
