Cpanel solo in dedicated server
We have multiple metal licenses on multiple servers, however, we need a license for a server with a single domain. We never had a cpanel on a server with only one account .
When we try to buy solo (1 account only).. always appears metal server. Need to be a cloud for this license? we can't install a solo licence in dedicated server for only one account? I see prices in website but product explanations no, only a summary.... when a product is for sell need to be clear, "color", "size", "Screws" etc etc... i don't see how many screws habe a solo licence only accounts, can someone give a me clear "ALL FEATURES" allowed in diferent licences.
Thank You

Thanks for your reply quietFinn..... it's joke???? pay the same for a domain or 100 accounts? what is the diference between vps and a dedicated for only a domain, in this case is a company email server only? 600$us/year for a domin with emails only? ahahhaa i don't believe cpanel go in this way. Can someone explain us better why? Thank you. English is not our first language and cpanel NEVER think in a simple translation in products(but we pay same as english speakers). Prices, conditions etc etc (we are very happy, every day more :( ). Repeat my question, What licence do we need for a dedicated server for only one account? Thank You! 0 -
HI, For dedicated metal server you need to purchase Premier licence Pricing, for one site I don't think you need a bare metal server for single account. you can go with a VPS, so solo license will work under VPS /cloud servers 0 -
Thanks for the reply TechAMIGO. Strange how cpanel has no one to respond to emails (cs@cpanel.net). For the price we pay shouldn't there be 24/7 support? If a customer wants a dedicated server to have its own resources with just one website, they don't want a VPS. AND SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY 3 TIMES MORE FOR THE SAME THING, JUST BECAUSE YES. If the customer has requested a server, they agree or disagree with the price. As we never charge cpanel values that are direct to cpanel -> customer, the customer came to the cpanel website and thought the price was "SOLO". It is poorly explained, obscure, with a very high price... A fact is that day by day, even with cpanel increasing prices, the number of customers looking for other solutions increases and in the set of customers, at the moment, with triple of servers (compared to 2017), not even half the amount spent to cpanel in 2016 (Who is the CEO that came up with this brilliant pricing idea?) . Our own servers don't use CPANEL(because of price) for years, but some clients ask for it and we support them if they want buy CPANEL with this conditions. It's bad for us because we have to support other types of platforms, some with high quality but that we don't work with on a daily basis. Forget the answer, before someone from cpanel responds, the server is already working with another control panel. The customer doesn't want to wait until someone remembers to respond... an arrogant attitude... Some companies are obsessed with customer satisfaction, others... Thanks to everyone who took time to reply. 0 -
HI @bitpt They won't be available in weekends, might the the reason for no response, anyway I agree with the pricing stratergy that bit high and can't afford for normal users with less accounts. but there is no other panel in the market that provides bulk inbuilt tools and better user friendly interface 0 -
User friendly???? No... it's for you and me that we know where the things are in cpanel(sometimes)... or, like in this new forced jupiter interface, wast time to find things in 5th menu and need to going back to home to repeat operation or search for "block domain" and no results for exim, etc etc... this is not user friendly. Most companies hate their customers only think in money(more money... and more) Time and again we see people complaining that they can"t get their company to grow... (raising prices). Too often it"s easy to see why. - This companies use blinders and forgot who they work for.
- Treating customers like they are stupid or worst.
- Obfuscating truth (like we saw in prices)
- Trying save money (but not) in customer, support or in many cases in better services and products.

I am also looking for the CPanel Solo Metal license for a dedicated server which only has 1 account on it. Where can I buy this license? Why can't we buy it directly from Cpanel. Searching online I only see options in foreign countries so not sure if they can be trusted. Please somebody help us in finding a reliable place where I can purchase a Cpanel Solo Metal license to be used on our dedicated server. Thanks! 0 -
@bitpt @WebSavvyGuy I Have a co worker whom has a cPanel solo lic. he has a dedicated server. He too did not want to pay for Metal lic, so he installed Proxmox Virtual Enviroment. he then created a VM ( VPS) using all his resources from the server 128 gb ram 50 CPU and he install AlmaLinux and cPanel Solo. so he runs his server like this. sometimes he likes to be able to use another VM for his testing purpose as well with Ubuntu and developer lic ofcPanel. I think this is smart way to keep price to solo. 1 server - install virtual environment - then create VM all of server resources then install OS with cPanel Solo (its very fast speed you wont tell the difference.) Proxmox Virtual Environment 7.1 Here is a selection of the highlights - Debian 11.1 "Bullseye", but using a newer Linux kernel 5.13
- LXC 4.0, Ceph 16.2.6, QEMU 6.1, and OpenZFS 2.1
- VM wizard with defaults for Windows 11 (q35, OVMF, TPM)
- New backup scheduler daemon for flexible scheduling options
- Backup retention
- Protection flag for backups
- Two-factor Authentication: WebAuthn, recovery keys, multiple factors for a single account
- New container templates: Fedora, Ubuntu, Alma Linux, Rocky Linux
- and many more enhancements, bugfixes, etc.

I agree, there needs to be a Solo option for dedicated server. I'll be dropping cPanel the next time I move servers. It is stupid to pay $720 a year for a panel when you only have one domain/account. 0 -
Correct 0 -
There is available Solo licence for bare metal. But I needed to ask person who is presentative for me as a Partner. cPanelu also needed to I write some additional agreement for cPanelu Solo for Dedicated. But it works. 0 -
I am a little unclear, apologies for asking a dull question but: We need a WHM for a metal server with a single domain name (and a testing subdomain). @Spirogg is this what you're describing? I get really cross wired with Cpanel the company, CPanel the domain accounts and CPanel the administration level. We need WHM on a server through with the single domain account we can access (via CPanel or whatever). Thanks 0 -
@martin MHC - yes, cPanel Solo is a license type that would allow you to have WHM access with only one cPanel account. However, through cPanel (the company) directly, we only offer that type of license on Cloud/VPS systems. Some partners may offer a Solo Metal license, but that is unique to their offerings and not something you can get directly from us. 0
