My web host setup the initial dns for our dedicated server. Unfortunately for the server2.ourdomain.com machine name they used the old nameserver from our previous server. Now we're getting errors on things like DKIM and SPF verifications. I've isolated the issue to just that machine name and am just wondering if I'm going to have issues editing the records manually (via whm nameserver records -> edit zones) since the machine name is the only way I have to access WHM. Should I be concerned about getting locked out? Or is this a pretty simple change as long as I add the new nameserver and IP correctly?

have you gone to WHM >
    • Server Configuration /
    • Basic WebHost Manager" Setup
then you will see at the very bottom the ns1 ns2 click the button: ( configure Address Records ) for the ns1 or ns2 etc you want to add or fix. then a pop up will show up and enter correct info click the blue button Configure Address Records again. then the popup will go away and you have to save the changes at the bottom of the page restart the server or just dns and you should be good. hope this helps 1st go here then popup change information and add NS and IP click blue button to add. noe back to this page clicke csave changes restart server or just dns should work.

as long as they are setup correctly should have no problem also see if your ISP can create for your IP's reverse dns to your hostname so no issues in emails.

Thanks for the respones! The original dns records on the server default dns have been setup correctly. For some reason this one machine name is in its own dns zone with an old nameserver. I went ahead and edited that directly via the dns zone->domain->manage and it seems to be working.
