httpd won't start after the last cpanel update a few hours ago
Hi Guys,
Anyone else with at a non-starting apache today?
Happened on at least 2 of our servers.
The servers are with different configurations - the first one is a dedicated server with Cloudlinux, the second one is a Virtual server without Cloudlinux. Both are Centos 7 servers.
Apache error log is empty.
journalctl -xe is giving:
Can't open PID file /run/apache2/httpd.pid (yet?) after start: No such file or directory
httpd.service start operation timed out. Terminating.
Failed to start Apache web server managed by cPanel EasyApache.
Tried:
Easyapache 4 provision
/scripts/upcp
/scripts/restartsrv_httpd
service httpd stop
service httpd start
/scripts/rebuildhttpdconf (giving OK)
Server reboot
Nothing helps - the apache is just stucked
No other errors can be found in the logs.
I have now opened a support ticket and the bad thing is - they cannot locate the issue yet so for now waiting.
Any ideas?

Hey, it turned out mod_security updated so those with custom rules - be careful. Good job from the cpanel support finding the issue. 0 -
I'm glad our team was able to help get things working! 0 -

This thread is two years old, so it's unlikely you are experiencing the same issue at this time.
Could you create a new thread with specific details about your situation? Once you do that we'll be able to get you more details about what the problem may be.
