Migrating from Godaddy to AWS
I currently use Godaddy for hosting a VPS with several client domains. I am considering migrating to WHM Cpanel AMI (on AWS) and was wondering if this will be a more cost effective approach. Furthermore, I would like to know what to look out for in terms of support. Any information that will enable me make an informed decision will be most welcome. My major concern is cost. Thanks

Hey there! Does your GoDaddy hosting already include cPanel? If so, you may be able to transfer that license depending on how it was purchased. It's important to note that cPanel does not offer hosting - we only provide the cPanel software that runs on your server. In order to have a complete hosting experience with cPanel, you'll need both a cPanel license and a hosting plan with a provider. Many providers include the cost of the cPanel license with their hosting plan, so you'll want to shop around for the best plan for your needs. If you purchase a license directly with cPanel, you'll be eligible for priority support for cPanel issues. Problems with the hosting itself would still need to be directed to the hosting provider. Let me know if that helps or if you need more details on any portion of that. 0 -
Got it. I use cPanel with my Godaddy VPS but the cost is embedded in my monthly bills. What I would like to know is whether I'll be better off cost-wise running cPanel on Godaddy versus running cPanel on AWS. Which works out cheaper? 0 -
It really depends on your plan - you'll have to check out what options you want and then add the cost of the cPanel license to it and go from there. 0
