Adding new ip on the server not to whm

Hello I need to add an ip to the server that is going to be used for other services and not for whm/cpanel usage. Whm/cpanel should not collect this ip and setup in its system. Can anyone help suggest on how to do it. If i just added to the interface will cpanel try to configure it for itself? Thanks Alex
