AlmaLinux 8 + PHP 5.6 +WHM

Short answer: no -1 -
Thank you, quietFinn. If an existing CentOS 7.x / cPanel server is 'upgraded' to AlmaLinux 8 -- and then PHP 5.6 is installed via the above mentioned method -- do you think that existing accounts set to PHP 5.6 would still be at 5.6, or would the AlmaLinux 8 move have automatically forced them into a higher version. (I obviously have not yet done that upgrade.) -1 -
Cpanel php versions are managed by easyapache 4 and integrate with its own rpm and api hooks. You may run into problems with this kind of custom configuration. For older php versions you have 2 options. 1) Cloudlinux (php selector or easyapache 4) 2) Using the imunify360 hardened php feature. (easyapache 4) In these 2 options, easyapache 4 rpm's change with cloudlinux php rpms and you can activate older php versions via easyapache 4. 0
