Will you be able to use it, yes. Will cPanel give you support, prob. not. You also won't get any OS or cPanel updates.

It really comes down to the complexity of your hosting environment and how customized it is. Personally, I would go for the migrating to a new server option, but I have heard positive feedback from folks using Elevate to update VPS's and servers with standard CentOS 7/cPanel hosting environments.

Thanks. I use a vps with cpanel to host my websites. It's not really a complex environment. Pretty basic to host Prestashop websites. Does that make any difference to run a vps wiith AlmaLinux 8 ? Again, I have a pretty simple use wiith whm/cpanel.

Prestashop is a common app that doesn"t really require anything custom as far as the hosting environment, so you should be ok using Elevate. It"s always a good idea to have backups in the event something does go wrong though.

I just have the feeling I should not do the upgrade ... There is this message in the faq "However if you attempt use it directly on a CentOS 7-based

If you use the AlmaLinux ELevate script on a cPanel system, it will break it. You need to be sure to use the cPanel ELevate script.
